PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT
Dec. 18th, 2025
FAITHFULNESS IS TIMELESS; UNFAITHFULNESS IS LIFELESS.
Faithfulness is usually and always associated with God. When we hear faithfulness, we automatically think of God but it also applies to people especially God’s own chosen. We are to be like Jesus Christ in all we do or say. Abraham's faithfulness earned him the ‘father of faith. David’s faithfulness gave him a special place in God’s heart. The characters in Hebrews chapter 11, had faith and were faithful to the living God and to men which earned them, till date, a standing ovation.
Moses explicitly challenged the people, where he spoke to the Lord in anger over the rebellion of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram. Then Moses became very angry and said to the Lord, “Do not accept their grain offerings! I have not taken so much as a donkey from them, and I have never hurt a single one of them.” (Numb. 16:15 NIV) It was the assertion of his honesty and faithfulness.
A similar challenge was made by the prophet Samuel to the Israelites when he was near the end of his leadership. “Now testify against me in the presence of the Lord and before his anointed one. Whose ox or donkey have I stolen? Have I ever cheated any of you? Have I ever oppressed you? Have I ever taken a bribe and perverted justice? Tell me and I will make right whatever I have done wrong.” (1 Sam. 12:3 NIV) This takes integrity, the fear of God, and faithfulness.
Faithfulness to man is faithfulness to God. We cannot be unfaithful to our fellow humans and claim that we are faithful to God. “If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?” (1 John 4:20 NIV) Jesus said; ‘Whatever you do to these little ones, you do it to me.’
A promise kept, is faithfulness. Obedience is faithfulness. Kindness is faithfulness. Treating others like yourself is faithfulness. Love is faithfulness. Honoring God is faithfulness.
Faithfulness is not eye service. “Not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man,” (Eph. 6:6-7 ESV) It shields the Truth. It is not driven by fear of danger or loss but by the fear and reverence of God.
IN THIS WORLD OF CORRUPTION, BE THE DIFFERENCE - be faithful.
THE WORD: “God is an honest judge. He is angry with the wicked every day. [12] If a person does not repent, God will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow." (Psa.7.11-12.NLT)
