PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

GOD IS SPIRIT.
“For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24 NLT)
“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” (Numb. 23:19 NLT)
Even though God is spirit, He is also a living personal being. As such, we can know Him personally. “Today you will know that the living God is among you. He will surely drive out the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites, and Jebusites ahead of you.” (Josh 3:10 NLT; Psa. 84:2)
God is spirit, and we are His temple because He resides in the heart of the believers through the Holy Spirit. Jesus said; “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.” (Mat. 8:20 NLT) “Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.” (1 Cor. 3:16-17 NLT) A spirit needs a body to operate to be heard. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Pay close attention to this. I will make you seem like God to Pharaoh, and your brother, Aaron, will be your prophet.” (Exo. 7:1 NLT)
The images we form in our hearts when praying are idols and idol worship. “You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods.” (Exo. 20:4-5 NLT) Therefore, the wooden cross is a symbol of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and not Christ. There is no picture of Jesus or an artist impression of Him while He was on earth. Any picture displayed representing Him is idol worship. Angels, Mary and her child statues fall under the category of idol worship. Nobody knows how Mary the mother of Jesus looked like. Nobody has seen God because He is spirit. “No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.” (John 1:18 NLT) This is why Jesus had to put on human flesh to reveal God the Father. And there was never His picture so that we can worship God in spirit and in truth.
THE WORD: “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows." (Gal.6.7.NIV)
