KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS. - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT
Dec. 1st, 2025

KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS - DON’T BE A DRIFTER.
“We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation?.......” (Heb. 2:1-3a NIV) If you are afraid of the persecution of Christians now, here on earth, what is the alternative? The alternative is eternal HELL FIRE.

A drifter is like a dead leaf or a dead fish which float the way the river is going. And the river is not flowing towards heaven in this world. It is flowing the other direction. So, you don’t have to work hard to go to HELL; you just drift. A drifter has no focus. He is blown about by any wind. A drifter practices all religion. He follows every kind of advice and concludes that we all serve the same God. There is only one God worthy to be served – that is the God that gave up His life that we might have life and have it abundantly. The God that died and rose from the dead and is ALIVE, sited at the right hand of God, the Father. Drifting is dangerous.

What did Stephen see when he was being stoned?
But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.  “Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” (Acts 7:55-56 NIV)

What is Paul’s position on persecution?
“……but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” (Rom. 5:3-5 NIV)

There are more delighted saints willing to suffer for Christ’s sake for the conviction in their hearts. For the faithfulness of God. For the promises of God and the fact that He is with us even in suffering and persecutions.

Do not be afraid, do not fear, just focus on Christ.

THE WORD: "God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek." (Heb.6.18-20.NIV)
