PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

STAND IN FREEDOM.
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” (Gal. 5:1 NKJV)
What is Paul saying and why?
He is saying we need no longer carry the burden of the Law of Moses, don’t do this, and don’t do that, because Christ has made the burden lighter. All that is required of us to be Born Again is; to believe that Jesus is the son of God. Confess and repent of sin and be baptized in water and the Holy Spirit. “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit……….. that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:5-6, 15 NKJV) This is salvation requirements.
But when the Gentiles began accepting Jesus Christ as Lord, some Jews decided that they must be circumcised, ritually clean and forbidden to eat certain foods. These regulations were not part of salvation in Christ Jesus and Paul had the task of making this very clear before the converted Christians are sent back into the world of darkness. “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” (Gal. 5:6 NIV) What any true follower of Jesus should be interested in, is the salvation of souls and not what the flesh dictates. Churches are full of hypocrites and discouragers that they have polluted many souls with their manufactured ideas of what Born Again should be. They have taken over the work of the Holy Spirit. Stand in the Freedom Christ purchased for you.
Stand on the promises of God by faith and you can resist the devil. Do not allow any person to wear you down and or weigh you down. Stand in your freedom. Whatever adjustment you needed will be taught by the Holy Spirit.
Another important lesson in your liberty is to obey God’s commands – not as burden but as your guiding light. God’s word is the light to our feet and paths in life (Psa. 119:105). He has given us power to tread on our enemies (Luke 10:19) based on our obedience and His truth in us if we must stand.
Take the case of the Israelites; they had just defeated Jericho a big and fortified city (Josh. 5:13-6:27) and needed to take down Ai a relatively smaller but significant city. The people of Ai defeated the Israelites and when Joshua inquired of the Lord, why God didn’t go to war with them, God told him of the sin of Achan (Josh. 7:2-5). Therefore, to Stand on His promises require clean hands and heart. Stand and let the Holy Spirit lead you not what people say. Stand in your Freedom.
THE WORD: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; [6] In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." (Prov.3.5-6.NKJV)
