PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

“ASK ANYTHING IN MY NAME AND I WILL DO IT.”
The Book of the Gospel of John chapters 14, 15, and 16 are about Jesus’ FAREWELL DISCOURSE with His disciples. In these chapters, many promises were made which included the promise of the Helper, the Holy Spirit to guide us on the right part. Outstanding in all the promises is that Jesus laid emphasis on the promise that “ask anything in my name and He will do it.” So, why are there so many unanswered prayers asked in the name of Jesus Christ? His promises are very clear. If so, what are we missing?
Jesus told His disciples: “If you really know me, you will know my Father as well.” (John 14:7a NIV) Then Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I DO NOT SPEAK ON MY OWN AUTHORITY. Rather, it is the Father, LIVING IN ME, WHO IS DOING HIS WORK.” (John 14:8-10 NIV) Jesus did not claim power and or authority unto Himself, rather He pointed us to the Heavenly Father as the ALL in ALL. Question: Do we really know Jesus? Because if we do, we will know the Father and will allow the Father to live in us to be able to access the promise.
The bitter truth is that majority of Christians rejected, ignored, refused to allow the Father to live in them. How? By rejecting the Holy Spirit, you reject the Father. And rejecting the Father means you cannot access the promise.
The next thing Jesus laid emphasis on is BELIEVE in me, (John 14:11-12) or BELIEVE in the works – the miracles, the healings, the teachings, the love He showed and more. Ask yourself: do I truly, wholeheartedly believe?
It seems like EVERYTHING WE DO NOT WANT TO DO IS WHAT WE ACTUALLY NEED TO DO TO OBTAIN WHAT WE DESIRE. Dependence not independence from God. To lose control to God not be in control of our lives. To learn obedience not live by disobedience. Summary: TOTAL SURRENDER TO GOD ALMIGHTY.
THE WORD: “The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life." (John.6.63.NIV)
