REMAIN IN ME, BELIEVE IN ME, ASK ANYTHING IN MY NAME. - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT
Jan. 16th, 2026

REMAIN IN ME, BELIEVE IN ME, ASK ANYTHING IN MY NAME.
Jesus guarantees that if we ask anything in His name, He will do whatever we ask in His name provided 1) we allow the Father to live in us – indwelling of the Holy Spirit, 2) we believe and 3) we remain in Him. Why? The AIM is to glorify God.

“And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:13 NIV)
“You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” (John 14:14 NIV)

Jesus repeated the same promise, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” (John 15:7-8 NIV)
“At that time, you won’t need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name.” (John 16:23 NLT) There you have it again!

The thought of having such power and authority as Jesus Christ have in each individual seems scary and at the same time awesome with fear and trembling and with great reverence. Thinking of how big God is, can a human heart contain Him? If all the hearts of all the peoples, past, present and future are put together, they will not be big enough for our God. Then I saw 1Corinthians 12 – One Body: Many Parts flashed in my mind. Each heart that receives the instructions will receive special anointing for special works. For example, Moses received special anointing to lead the people. Abraham’s – the faith grower. Job, the prove of God’s absolute sovereignty. David, the Great man in battle. Elijah, the God that is all consuming fire. Daniel, God’s presence in the midst of pagans. Joseph, God rules where mortal believes he is in charge. Jonah, the messenger. Paul, the teacher. John, the oracle of God. This is what we too will become a part of many parts to make the one body of Christ. We will also gain all the earthly blessings plus eternal life.
Let us remain in Him to help our generation.

THE WORD: “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues." (1 Cor.12.27-28.NIV)
