PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

“BECAUSE HE LIVES; WE WILL LIVE ALSO” (Jh. 14:19)
Jesus was preparing His disciples for His death, resurrection and ascension. It was during that discussion that He assured them; in a little while, the world will not see Him again but His disciples will see Him because He lives. He also gave them the assurance that they too will live. If they will live also, then there is no death. And if there will be death, how come He will still be alive? That is exactly the point! Jesus needs us to see death not as the world sees death but as He, the LIFE GIVER, has extinguished the power of death.
Before this conversation, the world saw death as the final exist and then permanent silence. Jesus declared to Martha; "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live" (John 11:25). This powerful statement declares Jesus's power over death, offering eternal life to those who believe in Him, not just a future physical resurrection but spiritual life now. He further reinforced this when He said "God is not the God of the dead, but of the living" (Matthew 22:32), Jesus uses it to affirm the resurrection, explaining that since God calls Himself the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and He is not the God of the dead, these patriarchs must still be alive to Him.
How can we be certain that we will live?
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me” (John 14:1). That is the answer. It is about your faith in the faithful God. The promise that we will live is riding on the back of John 3:16 – ETERNAL LIFE! And Matthew recorded the physically evidence of this hope and powerful promise - "The tombs also were opened, and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people" (Mat. 27:51-53). We also have the empty tomb as evidence that Jesus is alive. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. ….. suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them…… “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! (Luke 24:2-6 NIV)
WE TOO WILL LIVE JUST BELIEVE IN THE LIFE GIVER.
THE WORD: “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first." (1 Thes.4.16.NIV)
