PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT
Jan. 12th, 2026
CHRISTLIKE CHARACTER IS A LIFELONG PROCESS (Continuation)
There are three things required of the believer:
1)To be conformed
2)Being transformed
3)It does not yet appear what we shall be. The hope is when He appears, we shall be like Him.
Romans 8:30 puts these together: “And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.” (Rom. 8:30 NIV) 1) He called, 2) Justified, 3) glorified. We are more concerned for now with the transformation and the scripture puts it so well – “BEING TRANSFORMED” which is continuous. It is that personal and spiritual transformation which is an ongoing, dynamic, and lifelong journey, not a one-time event or final destination. It is a process of constant evolution, growth, and adaptation. Transformation is not a switch that is flipped but a gradual process. Just as a caterpillar becomes a butterfly over time, or a building is built step by step, personal growth takes time, patience, and persistent effort. To overlook this process is to remain in our old shell. Christian growth will stop, when this happens, there will be no spiritual fruit, and no spiritual fruit means there is no evidence that you are in Christ and He is in you. Let’s read Roman 12:2 again in Easy-to-Read Version: “Don’t change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but LET GOD CHANGE YOU INSIDE WITH A NEW WAY OF THINKING. Then you will be able to understand and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect.” (ERV)
Preachers in long robes and or designer suits, like the Pharisees of old, who like to be identified as men and women of God, who like to be greeted as holy men, must beware of the danger they are being exposed to (Luke 20:46). It limits their desires to constantly examine themselves, measure progress in absolute surrender to God, and never to give the devil a foothold.
We are all prone to adultery, porn, falsehood, anger, hatred, jealousy, prostitution, idolatry, stealing, murder, drunkenness, foolishness, desire to re-visit our old ways. Do not allow anyone to deceive you. Only those who constantly seek the HELP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT to remain above these evil vices will overcome. Otherwise, many will come crashing down. Why? Because the devil is always on the heels of believers.
THE WORD: “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Phil.1.6.NIV)
