OBEDIENCE IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE. (III)
• We have seen disobedience to God’s commands as an act of REBELLION associated with Divination and witchcraft.
• We have seen disobedience to God’s commands as the Rejection of God and His word. Also, that partial obedience is disobedience and the consequences of same as outright disobedience.
Today, we are looking into how disobedience and or obedience influences our prayer life.
Disobedience is a serious hindrance to prayers. It separates man from God, causes prayers to go unheard, and leads to chastisement. How can the God you rejected answer your prayers? It does not matter how many hours you spend in the church or at prayer meetings, as long as you fail to learning the first rule – “Do Not Eat” (Gen. 2:17) – which means do not Disobey God’s instructions, you will be babbling like the pagans who think they will be heard by their MANY WORDS (Mat.6:7). And truly speaking, you already have your answer. Please read Zachariah 7:11-14.
Many of us associate obedience to going to church regularly, being a worker in the church, seen by the vicarage as constant and good persons. These are works of the flesh. More important to God is how you treat your neighbors, your house-helps, the poor, the widow, your colleagues. Important to God is how you project His name! Does your character attract or distract souls to Him or otherwise? Important to God is His position in your heart. Are you faithful in little things? Take an audit of your life.
I have read many prayers sent on WhatsApp and noticed that we all loved to shout Amen. The question is, does your relationship with God justifies Amen or Repentance?
Moses was standing at the edge of the Red Sea with about two million Israelites depending on him for solution from impending death. He raised his eyes to God for direction. Hear what God told him: “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.” (Exo. 14:15-16 NIV) This is the immediate answer from God to the obedient servant. David asked God; should I pursue? God said to him, go ahead I am with you and have recovered all they stole from you. Easy! Because every command from God has a promise and every promise has a reward or curse. Obedience attracts reward, answer to your prayers -
THE WORD: “I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!" (Mat.25.40.NLT)
