PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

“Now therefore, GIVE ME THIS MOUNTAIN of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said.” (Josh. 14:12 NKJV)
Caleb was eighty-five years old when he demanded the mountain for his inheritance - a promise made to Him by God after he gave a favorable report on the promised land. His story went back to when he was forty years old, still in the wilderness, and was one of the twelve men sent by Moses to spy on the land of Canaan. He was sure then that the Israelites were strong enough to bring down the giants but the ten other spies spread a negative report in the camp that made the people afraid. They forgot the pillar that held them, their light and their strenght. God did two things for Caleb on the day he pronounced that none of those who had witnessed His power and miracles and who still did not trust Him will enter the promised land.
Caleb was one of the two people that left Egypt (out of the millions) that was not destroyed in the wilderness.
God promised him a special and separate inheritance. “But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.” (Num. 14:24 NIV)
This was the negative report filed with Moses “They gave Moses this account: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there.” (Num. 13:27-28 NIV)
Many Preachers preach the word of God and the power therein from a negative perspective. They preach fear instead of hope, Satan, death, and misfortunes are emphasised instead of the deeds of God, His power, miracles and how we can really access Him. People pray with so much fear of darkness and defeat rather than from the position of Victory. Where in the Bible have we read that Jesus spent so much time focusing less on the power of God and more on the power of the enemy?
Are you an agent of light or an agent of darkness? Act like light.
THE WORD: “In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you. Indeed they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me. Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake.” (Isa. 54:14-15 NKJV)
