LET THIS MIND ALSO BE IN YOU.

“You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.” (Phil. 2:5-8 NLT)


What is the mind of Christ Jesus?

  1. He was God but did not wear this fact like an armour. (Do you know who I am?)

  2. He gave up divine privileges - (Is your position more important than humanity?)

  3. He took the position of a slave - (the greatest shall serve; Mat.23:11)

  4. He was born as a human being - (we are human beings with the breath of God)

  5. He humbled Himself in obedience to God - (humility is obeying God)

  6. He lived a life of sacrifice - (What are you sacrificing to please God?)


What does Christ's mind have?

“But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.” (John 1:12-13 NLT) If you have a saving faith in Jesus Christ, you have the mind of Christ.


Our background before we came to Jesus is of no consequence. Afterall, Abraham was born an idol worshipper from Ur of the Chaldeans. From this pagan city and environment, God called Abraham. The grace of God! In a city full of idols, He revealed Himself to Abraham as the true and living God.  He also gave Abraham the faith he needed to leave the “good” life of Ur and to become a stranger in a land not his own. And he became the father of faith. We can have the same mind.


The problem is not how we came into Christ Jesus but why we choose to remain in our old skin and reject daily the opportunity to become better and greater! The world will be a better place if the Christians will allow the mind of Christ to become operational in them.


THE WORD: ““Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.” (Phil 2:2-4 NLT)
