PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT
April 15th, 2026.
Do you have that peace that Jesus Christ promised His followers? (John 14:27 with further explanation in Phil. 4:7). Did you know how much Jesus paid for that peace? Do you know how much it cost you spiritually, physically, emotionally, morally to obtain that peace?
Some of us toy with this peace in an attempt to please a friend, a colleague, a family member and or a church member, an elderly person and you convince yourself that you are simply keeping the peace while you coward in. But every time you end up being disturbed in your mind and in that instance, what you did is to sell your peace for their designed sadness. You need to wake up and protect your peace, that peace that passes all understanding with all that you have got.
Jesus Christ says: “If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire.” (Mat. 18:8 NIV) Some Bible Scholars believe that this statement is hyperbole - an obvious exaggeration. Okay, maybe He is not saying that you physically cut off the hand or foot but cut off nonetheless. Cut off anyone who has no regard for your peace. Who deliberately wants to wound you because of their selfish pride and arrogance. They are always criticizing, condemning, comparing, showing off, they counter every statement you make, they sound superior, controlling and boastful. They never listen. They are domineering. They always have something to say to wound your heart. If you look deeper into their lives, they are empty.
Some of you may think that this approach is harsh. Some are afraid of isolation. But isolation is a cheaper price to pay in the place of a disturbed mind. Haman's condescending remark of the Jews almost wore Mordecai down. It took God ten very harsh plagues to deliver the Israelites from Pharaoh’s oppression. These individuals use the same tactics - avoid them or cut them off. Preserve your peace.
If you are a believer but still indulge in torturing other souls for your insecurity, know that your action is totally condemned by the scriptures. “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.” (Prov. 17:17 NIV) “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” (1 John 4:7 NIV)
THE WORD: “As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” (1 Pet. 1:14-16 NIV)
