PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

We know that our personal efforts to stop sinning cannot stop Sin. This is universal. “What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin.” (Rom. 3:9 NIV) “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Rom. 3:23 NIV)
We all go into sin deliberately, decisively, an act of rebellion, not a mistake because we go back to sinning over and over again. Actually, we all enjoy sin even if for brief moments. Maybe that is why it is easier to return to it as often as we do. So, Paul cried out: “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?” (Rom. 7:24 NIV) - back to Genesis 2:17.
Because we deliberately, decisively, an act of rebellion, go into sin, we need to also deliberately, decisively, but this time as an act of obedience to seek help from the only source of redemption. We are all broken but God provided a way out long before we were born. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom. 5:8 NIV) "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 NKJV) Now we think like the prodigal son; “ I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,” (Luke 15:18 NKJV)
Heaven is all set waiting for us sinners to come home - one minute, we are dead and the next, we are alive. There is great rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents, more than over ninety-nine righteous people who do not need to repent (Luke 15:7). This signifies God’s immense love for individuals, valuing the return of a lost soul, which is celebrated as a significant victory by the angels.
It looks and feels so simple considering the weight of the sin committed that it raises more questions.
How can I be truly forgiven?
Why do I keep doing the things I hate?
Does God really have plans for my life?
Is there any hope for this broken world?
Then there is the doubt of our new status - Am I a new creation?
THE WORD: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Cor. 5:17 NIV)
