PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT
May 23rd, 2026
Faith in God has different levels. It is not static, it grows until it has its root so deep in the word of God. It all starts by hearing the word of God. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Rom. 10:17 NKJV) Faith is the bridge between us and God. For we do not walk by sight; we walk by faith.
The first level is THE FAITH THAT ASKS. Faith that asks is how many of us came to Jesus Christ especially when we have run out of choices, we run to Jesus. Faith that asks is a childlike faith that runs to the father when he falls. When Bartimaeus the blind man, sitting by the roadside begging, heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Mark 10:46-47 NIV) The woman with the issue of blood told herself if I can just touch the hem of His garment. This simple faith plunged them in the healing cleansing word of God. You too probably came to Jesus shouting, crying, and asking for help. This faith is the doorway. God uses our needs to draw us closer to Him.
The second level is THE FAITH THAT TRUSTS. What started as ‘help’ became the reason to know the Helper. God doesn’t immediately give us what we ask for because if He did, we will not have a relationship with Him. He will just become our ATM. In the faith that trusts, God does not answer our prayers immediately. There is a period of delay. A period of doubt, disappointment, frustration but for some reason, we stay because of past deeds and because of His word. Job showed this kind of faith when he said: "Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him." (Job 13:15 KJV). Abraham showed this faith and likewise Joseph. They chose to keep trusting. Delay thought then dependence on God. It is the training ground for our transformation.
The third level is THE FAITH THAT ABIDES. This is about John 15. “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” (John 15:4 NKJV) It is about living in Him. You reach the state of ‘Your will not my will’. This is when your will stop competing with His will. You grow quite confident even in the face of the storm. You are calm. You seem to sense God moment by moment. You feel His presence all day long. The fruit of the faith that abides is PEACE - unexplainable peace.
Which level are you in? Keep on trusting, reading, listening and obeying His word.
THE WORD: “ And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Rom. 12:2 NKJV)
