THE REJECTION OF TRUTH IS THE EMBRACE OF LIES. - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

May 24th, 2026

“Save me, Lord, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues. What will he do to you, and what more besides, you deceitful tongue? He will punish you with a warrior’s sharp arrows, with burning coals of the broom bush.” (Psa.120:2-4 NIV)

“For these are rebellious people, deceitful children, children unwilling to listen to the Lord’s instruction. They say to the seers, “See no more visions! and to the prophets,  “Give us no more visions of what is right! Tell us pleasant things, prophesy illusions.” (Isa. 30:9-10 NIV) This means that the people had the light, but they loved darkness. They know the truth but prefer deceit and in the process deceive others. They paraded lies as truth and even used the Holy name of God to embellish the lies. It means they have no fear of God and God gave them a reprobate heart. The end of such people is unfortunately gruesome.

There are prophets, men and women of God who are more than willing to tell the people what the people want to hear instead of the truth from God. “Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things.” (Phil. 3:19 NIV) Balaam is an example of prophets who heard the prophecy, the truth but decided to deceive the people and lead them astray. King Ahab loved lies and the lying prophets in spite of the fact that he knew the truth. It led to his death. (1 Kings 22)

"Let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins." (James 5:20) Our nation is in the season of campaigns which comes with a lot of tensions, deceits, distorted information, and sharing of blood money, hold on to your salvation with fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12) This means actively putting your faith into practice, continually maturing, and letting the reality of your salvation show in your choices and actions. Whichever your eyes or hands or legs will make you fall, it is better you cut them off (Mat. 5:29-30) This is spiritual pruning and dealing with toxic influences which could lead to spiritual separation

Endure now and “only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked.” (Psa. 91:8 NKJV)

THE WORD: “Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!” (Mat. 18:7 NIV)
