PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

Every time you meet malice with malice, anger with anger, insult with insult, hatred with hatred, hostility with hostility, you fuel the conflict and EVENTUALLY BECOME THE VERY THING YOU HATE. If hate is your thing, then you are in your comfort zone but you lose the presence of Jesus Christ and with that, the comfort of the Holy Spirit as well.


The King of Aram was at war with Israel but every strategic move he made to reach Israel, God revealed to Elisha and Elisha warned the King of Israel. The king of Aram was frustrated. He assumed that a spy was among them but one of his servants told him that the prophet Elisha knew his every move. The king then decided to capture Elisha and remove the threat. He sent his battalion to arrest Elisha but the heavenly army was standing guard too. Elisha prayed to God to blind the Arameans forces. God did and the army was led by Elisha into Samaria. When the King of Israel saw them, he was amazed and he asked Elisha shall I kill them? Elisha simply said make them a feast. “Do not kill them,” he answered. “Would you kill those you have captured with your own sword or bow? Set food and water before them so that they may eat and drink and then go back to their master. So he prepared a great feast for them, and after they had finished eating and drinking, he sent them away, and they returned to their master. So THE BANDS FROM ARAM STOPPED RAIDING ISRAEL’S territory.” (2 Kings 6:22-23 NIV)

  1. Elisha followed all that God told him.

  2. The king of Israel trusted the prophet and followed his advice.

  3. God was pleased and He sent help.

  4. The Arameans received hospitality/kindness instead of death and that threw them off balance. They returned home not believing what they just experienced.

  5. The result: They never troubled Israel again.

This could not have been possible if Elisha or the king of Israel disobeyed God. They will not have been able to showcase the power and the wonders of the God of Israel.


Do you want the world to see and to know Jesus Christ through you? Then, If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;  if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and THE LORD WILL REWARD YOU.” (Prov. 25:21-22 NIV)(Rom. 12:20) When you treat an enemy well, it can create a sense of deep shame, guilt, or conviction in them, potentially leading to remorse, repentance, and a change of heart. 


THE WORD:  “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them……  But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.” (Luke 6:32, 35-36 NIV)
