PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.” (John 3:17-21 NIV)
Reading the above Bible verses with understanding, it is obvious that God does not condemn anyone but He sets out before us the reasons why we may or may not be condemned. And the judgement for disobedience is not immediate but at the end of one’s life - which means everyone is given the same opportunity till the end of life’s journey. For clarity, there is the Mount of blessings - Mount Gerizim and the Mount of curses - Mount Ebal (Deut. 11:29). There is Deuteronomy 28 that states the blessings for obedience and the curses for disobedience. There is the evidence of these seen at Calvary with the two men hung alongside Jesus - the condemnation comes at the very end of life’s journey. If God condemns us before the very end, (pre-maturely), why will the gate of Grace remain open till the very end of life?
The Bible warns us not to judge but we judge. It warns us not to condemn, but we condemn. Do not take revenge, we do the opposite. Love one another, we hate one another. Love covers multitudes of sins, we rather expose the sin. Forgive, we pretend to but the misunderstanding comes up at every opportunity. Do not criticize, we do criticize and sometimes wrap it to sound like advice. See others as better than you, we see ourselves better than others. Encourage one another is interpreted as discourage one another. We demand stricter rules from others than we ourselves are willing to keep. We do all these while pretending to be obedient.
“For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” (Mat. 12:37 NIV) We need to stop pretending that we love one another. We need to remember that whatever measure we use for others will be used for us (Luke 6:38 read 1 Cor. 13) The word we speak is life. Use it to Build and not to Destroy. Ask the Holy Spirit for help.
THE WORD: “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8 NIV)
