PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT
June 27th, 2026.
"Come and see what the Lord has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress." (Psa.46.8-11.NIV)
The above Bible verses showcase the power and mightiness of God as the Creator and that all things seen and unseen are answerable to Him. You may be carrying a burden an overwhelming personal issue, or national issues or natural disaster that feels like the ground beneath you is about to collapse. God says; "be still and know that I am God." How? Be calm, surrender, trusting Him entirely. "Does he who fashioned the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see? Does he who disciplines nations not punish? Does he who teaches mankind lack knowledge? The Lord knows all human plans; he knows that they are futile."
(Psa.94.9-11.NIV)
Here is what Habakkuk saw: "God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth. His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden. Plague went before him; pestilence followed his steps. He stood, and shook the earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble. The ancient mountains crumbled and the age-old hills collapsed— BUT HE MARCHES ON FOREVER." (Hab.3.3-6.NIV)
Be still, let go, quit holding on to things that keep you from exalting God and giving Him His proper place in your life. Ask yourself - where does your help come from? God's children's help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Who will not let their foot slip— He who watches over us will not slumber; (Psa.121.2-3.NIV)
God sometimes allowed the wicked a field day to displace his arrogance believing in his power and his position of oppression. It is temporary. Pharaoh who did not know Joseph, who refused to search the archives of his kingdom for information, but challenged God anyway. God, through Moses, told His people to be still and know that He is God. Pharaoh died in the red sea without the Israelites lifting a finger. Do you believe? Will you trust Him?
Jezebel sought to kill Elijah. She was the first lady and all the wicked of the land were at her disposal. Elijah was one man - like David cried out to Saul accused him of sending 3000 soldiers against 'one' him. Jezebel not only failed, Elijah was taken away in chariots of fire to heaven while the dogs ate Jezebel. David survived Saul. Those against us shall surely bow. Saturate yourself with the word of God.
THE WORD: “When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; he brought me into a spacious place. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?" (Psa.118.5-6.NIV)
