PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

“I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.” (1 Cor. 1:10 NIV)
“Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?” (1 Cor. 10:13 NIV)
The Power of Unity:
The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.” (Gen. 11:6 NIV)
“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” (Mat. 18:19 NIV)
God is God of Unity
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one". (Deut. 6:4)
When there is division, we lose the power of unity. The enemy knows this and causes division among us in church, family, relationships. Children who grew up from toddlers to early twenties breaking up over nothing or because they just realise that fingers are not equal. That is a colossal loss. You observe elderly people who do not know each other sharing their body conversions and making a joke of it while encouraging each other. It makes the world a better place.
“All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:44-47 NIV) Why? Because their focus was Christ Jesus!
Why is there division among us believers? We are losing the power of agreement, we are losing the power of multiplications, power of healing, power to drive out bad governance, power to dismantle corrupt leaders and shame the devil! We are weaker by the day. We allow jealousy, envy, petty misunderstanding, gossip, greed, dishonesty, to take root and every meeting dies before it can see the light of day. Instead of a five minute prayer of agreement for the sick, the sick spend millions in the hospital and we all turn around and claim we are broke! Hole in the pocket (Hag. 1:6) Demons are having field days, pews are empty, souls are wasting away, joy in short supply, and our pride/selfishness stands in the way.
THE WORD: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you Double-minded.” (James 4:6-8 NIV)
