PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luk.19.9-10.NIV)
This is more true in the story of the woman at the well and why she was the very first person in all the entire gospel that Jesus revealed His true identity. Yes, the Samaritan woman at the well, in the afternoon, while Jesus was on His way to Galilee, hungry, thirsty, tired, and alone was the first person Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.” (John.4.26.NIV)
I wanted to know why. So I stayed with the revelation for days. Then, there it was - Bible interpreting itself. “Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that he was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John— So he left Judea and went back once more to Galilee." (John.4.1&3.NIV) Then the Samaritan woman came to draw water at Jacob's well. Note the connection - the Jacob's well, indicating that somewhere, sometime ago, there was a relationship between the Samaritans and the Jews. During their conversation, the woman said: Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.” (John.4.20.NIV) The Samaritans became outcast in their own story. This is where the story gets better. Jesus, (the man), and the woman were actually descendants of Jacob. This story is not random. It was deliberate to take us deep inside the mission of Jesus Christ - the ministry of reconciliation.
The woman's story, the one we all laid emphasis on, was the five husbands presenting her as a prostitute and unworthy. Jesus saw a lost daughter of Abraham. She was not an outsider as some scholars concluded. Samaria was the capital of Israel while Jerusalem was for Judah. When they were taken captives to Babylon, the remnant left inter-married with other nations imposed on them. So, when the Jews returned from exile, they rejected the mixed race as impure, hence, the Samaritans became outcasts.
The woman at the well became the first evangelist even before the twelve were sent out. We have broken families, children of the same parents, half siblings, some left the faith for alternatives, some are poor while others are rich, some educated and many are not. JESUS saw a lost soul needing redemption. What do you see?
