PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT
July 15th, 2026.
“When the Gentiles sin, they will be destroyed, even though they never had God’s written law. And the Jews, who do have God’s law, will be judged by that law when they fail to obey it. For merely listening to the law doesn’t make us right with God. It is obeying the law that makes us right in his sight. Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right. And this is the message I proclaim—that the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone’s secret life.” (Rom. 2:12-16 NLT)
The question is, can any sin be excused? Are not all Sin deliberate acts of disobedience? Moreso that God gave us the free will to choose our actions? You can say ‘but I didn’t know!’ - but it is said that ignorance is not an excuse. This is proven by the Bible passage above Romans 2:12-16. You may not have read the written word of God but your conscience instinctively reacts to good and bad - to what is right and what is wrong. “Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.” (Rom. 2:14-15)
So, what is the cost or the consequences of willful/deliberate disobedience to God’s instructions? The answer is death both spiritually and physically. Because you are cut off from hearing God, forfeited peace, and missed divine direction. In the biblical context, the cost is steep—manifesting as prolonged personal wandering, loss of purpose, and the natural consequences of choosing one's own way over God's will. A LIFE WITHOUT THE PEACE OF MIND, IS A LIFE LIVE IN PAIN - constantly searching but not finding. Why? Because PEACE is only in Christ. And eventually if you do not find your way back to Him, there is no escaping Hell.
“In the beginning…….. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters.” (Gen. 1:1-2) This describes perfectly the heart of man without the Spirit of God. Whatever you do outside the will of God is formless, empty, and covered in darkness. What a contrast from the light we are meant to be. Meditate on this. Decide today who you will obey - God, yourself, or the world.
THE WORD: “Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.” (1 John 3:24 NLT)
