PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT
July 16th, 2026.
“If a righteous person turns from their righteousness and commits sin, they will die for it; because of the sin they have committed they will die. But if a wicked person turns away from the wickedness they have committed and does what is just and right, they will save their life. Because they consider all the offenses they have committed and turn away from them, that person will surely live; they will not die.” (Ezek. 18:26-28 NIV)
It is not the number of years that you have been in the ministry or that you have been born again that matters but your current status in Christ. Are you living in the present or in the past glory? Are you boasting of how long you have been born again or constantly improving your relationship with God and man? God’s word is living water - fresh water, flowing water, never stagnant. “ Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” (John 7:38 NIV)
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isa. 43:18-19 NIV) Some of us live in the past and forget how to move forward. They are stagnant without realizing it because they boast and live in the past. They allow pride to rule their hearts without realizing it. You cannot continue to see yourself if truly you allow the Holy Spirit to order your steps. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart AND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING”. (Prov. 3:5 NIV) Do you hear that? Lean not on your own understanding - because new every morning is God’s love and He only has the blueprint of the way we should go.
God’s word is living water that washes, restores, and purifies our souls. “....... Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” (Eph. 5:25-27 NIV) There is a continuous bathing in the word until He comes. Therefore, no one born of the Spirit can afford to live in the past or the past glory. This also emphasizes the danger of preaching self instead of preaching Christ. God hates the sin of self-exaltation, but rather wants us to humble ourselves for Him to exalt us in due season. “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” (1 Pet. 5:5a) Preach less about yourself and more about Christ. All life experiences required in your sermon are in the Holy Bible. PUT GOD FIRST.
THE WORD: “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.” (Gal. 5:24-26 NIV)
