PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT
July 18th, 2026.
Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” (Mat. 16:23)
Satan disguises himself as a human or as an "angel of light". “And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.” (2 Cor. 11:14-15) “A man’s enemies are the members of his own household.” (Micah 7:6) “Then Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let us go out to the field.” And while they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him.” (Gen. 4:8) Rather than physical horns or a tail, this deception typically manifests through charismatic personalities or misleading teachings that appeal to human desires.
Watch and pray. Watch out for wolves in sheep clothing. Watch out for people who manifest as friends, concern citizens but are agents who have come knowingly or unknowingly to derail you rather than keep you on the path of righteousness. Jesus shared in a brief moment the essential reason why He came from heaven to earth with His disciples and Peter, from you are the Messiah to “No Lord; this shall never happen to you” - that is the very thing that makes Jesus who He is.
Have you shared your future plans or vision, or what the Spirit of God is telling you with someone dear to you? What is the response? Positive, negative, or pray about it? Satan is entirely negative because he lacks truth and promotes sin, separation from God, and eternal ruin. Negative thoughts. Negative suggestions. Negative actions. Negative advice. Lives on suspicion.
The God we serve is all positive. There is no evil in Him. He declared that all He created is good. Jesus’ mission is Good News. God’s plan is of good and not evil. He promises to perfect all that concerns us. When what you hear is negative, be on your guard.
How do you overcome Satan’s tactics? Stop relying on people for advice or direction. Do not share your vision, or plans early. Keep it to yourself until it has taken root. Know the word of God. You will be surprised that that thought/question bothering you has the right solution/answer in the Holy Book if you know where to look. If you cannot find it, rely on the Holy Spirit. Ask Him. Tell Him. He will guide you right.
Trust God; trust no man.
THE WORD: “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1 NIV)
