PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

“By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. FOR NO ONE can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Cor. 3:10-11 NIV)
Throughout history, people have tried to build their lives, morals, and societies on alternative support systems - outrightly rejecting the foundation that God laid - which is Himself. God is the solid foundation because He created all creations. He knows where the load bearing stone is laid because He laid it. Relying strictly on intellect or cultural trends rather than God's truth, trusting money, status, or career as the ultimate source of security, believing that human effort alone can sustain a person through life's trials are all foundations that have failed over and over again. They hold for a while and when the storm of life hits, they collapse. Still we fail to learn from experience.
There is only one sure foundation that has stood the test of time and still stands. According to scripture, God has already set this cornerstone, and no human can invent a substitute that brings true salvation. All other foundations eventually crack or fade and lead only to eternal fire in hell.
WHY IS THERE NO ALTERNATIVE FOUNDATION?
Because Christ “...was CHOSEN BEFORE THE CREATION OF THE WORLD, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.” (1 Pet. 1:20)
“He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time…..” (2 Tim. 1:9)
So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation;....” (Isa. 28:16a)
Every other alternative way to eternal life was laid after God had done with creation. According to builders, the foundation of a building is set in place before the building. The building only rests on its foundation. Hence: “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes” (Mat 21:42) Peter said: Jesus is the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:11-12)
THE WORD: Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” and, “A stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for.” (1 Pet.2:4-7 NIV)
