HOLD FAST TO THE PROMISES FAITH CONFESSES. - KBA Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

Aug. 28th, 2026.

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” (Heb. 10:23 NIV)

“For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” (Rom. 15:4)

This is repeated for our encouragement: Confession of Faith is to publicly declare and agree with God's word, praising His name, and witnessing to our belief in Jesus Christ. Sometimes it is very easy to hold steadfast to our faith and hope in Christ Jesus. Sometimes it is very difficult especially when life proves to be tough as some of us may be experiencing right now. The first thing to know is that you are not alone. God is faithful and will never let you face a temptation or test that is too heavy to bear without also providing a way to endure it. (1 Cor. 10:13) There are many others going through the same thing as you.

At times like this, even the strongest in faith may be challenged. The conflict between ‘sense knowledge’ - what you see and faith that believes before it sees. Lazarus was dead and buried for four days - that was no longer a pretty sight. In fact, if faith has sustained one in the first two days, the hope of any miracle becomes dim after that. Jesus is never late. He says: “I am the resurrection and the life.He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. (John 11:25). Let the sight (what you see) not steal your faith. It is not what we see but what we believe or who we believe. (2 Cor. 5:7)

Do not lose your God given power and authority to fear. Be bold and courageous because God says; “as He was with Moses, He will be with you.” The sickness in Timothy’s body did not take his faith from him. He lived to a ripe old age. Because Jesus, "Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed." (1 Peter 2:24) You pray for something and shortly after, you confess a negative confession because of the pain or delay in answer to your prayers. You doubt. You have just cancelled hope. The scriptures say we should keep asking till we receive. Do not give up. You give up, you lose. James says; "But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." (James 1:6-8) Therefore be strong, keep repeating the word of God that gives you hope.

THE WORD: "Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, 'I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24)
