PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

“The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them……” (Gen 3:21 NIV) Compare this to…..
“Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.” (Gen. 3:7 NIV)
Adam and Eve disobeyed God. The price of their disobedience is death. “.....but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Gen. 2:17 NIV) They both knew this and the first thing they did was “sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.” Why? They were probably hoping that God would not see what they did. “He says to himself, “God has forgotten; He has hidden His face; He will never see it.” (Psa. 10:11) This was the first attempt of man to save himself. They tried to hide their shame using stitched fig leaves. Surely, human works and self-effort cannot hide our spiritual nakedness or fix our broken relationship with a holy God. So, God showed up and performed the first sacrifice to redeem Adam and Eve.
They were to die but God put to death an innocent animal, skinned it and used the skin as temporary covering for the sin of Adam and Eve. God substituted an animal to die in the place of Adam and Eve. NO MAN HAS ANY ACT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS TO SAVE HIM FROM HIS SIN. God must surely intervene. And this played out in many scenarios in the Bible (the tower of Babel, the worship of Baal, twisting the word of God to suit our desires) - MAN IS NOT RELIEVED FROM THE BURDEN OF SIN UNTIL HE IS HUMBLED ENOUGH TO CONFESS AND TO REPENT.
Eve desired to be like God under cover, in secret, and the deceitful guiding of the serpent only to end up being exposed by the same God and before she and Adam could die, the same God came to their rescue.
We are not different from Adam and Eve (Gen. 5:3). We believe in secrecy, daring and or challenging the unchallengeable. God on the other hand is full of mercy and compassion that He will not allow us to be destroyed. He provided Himself as the last sacrifice. Jesus gave His life on the cross so that our sins could be atoned for once and for all.Through faith in Christ, God robes us in His perfect garment of salvation and righteousness. JESUS IS OUR LAST CHANCE.
God provided the first and the last sacrifice to atone for sin confirming that He is the FIRST AND THE LAST and our REDEMEER.
THE WORD: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.” (John 15:13-14 KJV)
