BUT GOD ALREADY HAVE PLANS - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.

May 27th, 2025

BUT GOD ALREADY HAVE PLANS.
Most people love to have a plan in place as guide to achieve their aims and objectives. We seem naked and irresponsible when we have no plans for the future. Having a plan in place gives us a kind of control over our being and a driving force to achieve whatever we set our minds on.

This control gives us the power to stir our lives in the direction we believe is right. The plan, the control, keep the adrenaline flowing. Our plans are self made, self-centered, self seeking into the unknown future. A future we created and also control the narratives. We delight in long and short term plans. Anyone without a plan is seen as not serious. We even ask ourselves; what is your plan? What do you have in mind? "Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow.........As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil.
(Jas.4.13-16.NIV)

But God already have plans in place for each of us! His plans and ours are not synchronised and one plan is definitely going to crash. Herein lies the problem and it is a major conflict. We struggle and wrestle that our plans supersede God's plan consciously or not. Those who had been on this mountain before, know the plan that will crash and one that will stand. It is written; "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you." (Jer.29.11-12.NIV)

God orders our footsteps. He is the Shepherd, we are His sheep. Without Him, we are nothing. It is He who supplies our needs. His plans are more comprehensive and synchronised and like a puzzle fit together. Therefore,  if we want to continue to live a good and worthy life, "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." (Psa.37.4.NIV). Now we have come full circle - put God first.
Accept His Supremacy.

THE WORD: I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." (Psa.16.8-9, 11.NIV)
