DESTINATION UNKNOWN WITHOUT JESUS - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.

DESTINATION UNKNOWN WITHOUT JESUS.
The truth be told, before we become born again, we have no idea which way we are heading. Everything and everyone attract our attention. All we ever want to be is limited to our immediate environment or exposure. We do not have a known destination and the world seems very small - just our family house/huts. The mind is darkened because there is no light to illuminate it. Wickedness thrives because that is all we know - we destroy, we do not build. A little knowledge and people are running away to seek greener pasture.

"Get wisdom and insight! Do not forget or ignore what I say. Do not abandon wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will keep you safe. Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do. Whatever else you get, get insight. Love wisdom, and she will make you great. Embrace her, and she will bring you honor. She will be your crowning glory.” (Prov.4.5-9.GNT)

In the Old Testament, the darkened picture is more pronounced and contrasted with some glow of light. We read more about wickedness than good. The Psalms doesn't help much. 70%-80% is about the wicked thus emphasizing the darkness in which the people live. Every page is about deliverance from the enemies. We see a glimpse of hope only in those who found the light. Even then, they are overwhelmed by so many enemies, seen and unseen, who would rather and or determined to extinguish the little light. No wonder the scripture says; "My people perish for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6). HAS IT REALLY CHANGE?

In the New Testament however, the emphasis shifts from darkness to more light, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, certainty over uncertainty, known over unknown and the destinations are as clear as the day. That without the light which is Jesus Christ, there is no Map, no compass, and no Way.
HAVE YOU'VE SEEN THE LIGHT? HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE LIGHT? The light leads to known destination.

WORD: "And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing." (2 Tim.4.8.NLT)
