PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.
July 12th, 2025
DELIVER ME FROM SELF DESTRUCTION.
"How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. KEEP YOUR SERVANT FROM DELIBERATE SINS! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin." (Psa.19.12-13.NLT)
A REMINDER.
Deliberate sins carry the meaning that, you know that what you about to do or what you are already doing is against any moral and or spiritual ethics, but you insist on doing it anyway. This attitude leads straight into self destruction. It is a well lighted path to self destruction. The question is: why will anyone choose this path?
Human beings have an incredible propensity to self-destruct. We are stubborn and rebellious. We like to go our own way. That is why the Bible says we are like sheep needing a shepherd always who will be the guardian of our souls (1 Peter 2:25). This is why Jesus came to save us from all of our sins but only if we let Him in.
There was a time we lacked knowledge. We were absolutely in darkness. The light was not in us. But now we have received the light. We have seen and experienced His miracles. We are witnesses to His truth and faithfulness. Why turn back to live in darkness again? Or why allow a part of you to return to darkness and hoping to keep a part in the light? Unfortunately, we can only have it either way.
"And who was it who rebelled against God, even though they heard his voice? Wasn’t it the people Moses led out of Egypt? And who made God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it the people who sinned, whose corpses lay in the wilderness? And to whom was God speaking when he took an oath that they would never enter his rest? Wasn’t it the people who disobeyed him? So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest." (Heb.3.16-19.NLT). The end result is the same for believers, who turned back. They placed their hands on the plough and then looked back! These are not fit for the Kingdom of God. ONLY THOSE WHO ENDURE TO THE END SHALL BE SAVED. (Mat.24:13)
There is much room for repentance from now until Jesus comes back. Otherwise,
THE WORD: "For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, [5] who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come— [6] and who then turn away from God......" (Heb.6.4-6.NLT)
