GRATITUDE IN SMALL PACKAGES.
Gratitude is a core principle that involves recognising and appreciating God's blessings, both big and small, and expressing thankfulness for His goodness and provision. (AI)
What does gratitude in small packages mean? To package something is to go the extra mile, paying attention to details, thinking of the receiver's more and how the gift will be presented as well as how it will be received. Often, the process comes with some level of anxiety, a smile of satisfaction (if you think what you wrapped is special) or a feeling of guilt that you haven't done enough but will still go ahead and give. Sometimes, we hurriedly wrap something just to be seen to have done the needful devoured of the preference of the receiver. Most importantly is the attention we pay, and the love that comes with the package. We may need to ask ourselves these questions:
Who is the package for?
Why the gratitude?
How valuable is the receiver?
Are you expecting more favour from him/her?
Or you are just grateful to be included?
Here is what God says: "I bring no charges against you concerning your sacrifices or concerning your burnt offerings, which are ever before me. I have no need of a bull from your stall or of goats from your pens,.............. “Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High, and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.” (Psa.50.8-9, 14-15.NIV)
What does this means @ I have no need of a bull..., no need of your money, or your gifts? It means a need for a grateful heart, an obedient heart! HEART GRATITUDE is the real deal and God has access to our hearts and His evaluation is true. He sees through our packages of thankfulness. And His instruction is this; "give thanks IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." (1 Thes.5.18.NIV). This translates that we must have a joyful heart always in order to present our package of gratitude. Hence it is written: "Rejoice always, I say again rejoice" (Phil 4:4)
We worry more on what to present to the church and the needy that we forget what we need to present to God. David danced.
You too can dance in your room, car, shop, kitchen etc - gratitude in small packages.
