THE WORD IS NEW EVERYDAY AND GIVES POWER - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.
July 31st, 2025

THE WORD OF GOD IS NEW EVERYDAY AND GIVES POWER.
The Word of God is not only new daily, it is richer, more meaningful, more challenging, with layers upon layers of awe. It is inspiring and it is for this reason that daily reading of the word is motivated like searching for a treasure. The secret to the treasure is to keep digging daily. The more you dig, the more you are enriched. The moment you stop digging, the word is no longer new, instead, it slowly begins to dry and lifeless. "I gave them my commands and taught them my laws, which bring life to anyone who obeys them." (Ezek.20.11.GNT)
The word of God is life and we are lifeless without it. As our lives witnesses changes daily, so is the word of God.

When a Preacher is on auto repetition and nothing refreshing, it is evident that he is no longer attached to the source - the living fountain. When you are weary of reading the Bible, go over your checklist and you will find that either you are entering into the sin cave, or there is a distraction competing with your interest. (Check TV programs,  social media,  or engagements) "Remain united to me, and I will remain united to you. A branch cannot bear fruit by itself; it can do so only if it remains in the vine. In the same way you cannot bear fruit unless you remain in me." (John.15.4.GNT)

Repetition is good, it is encouraged throughout the Bible (Deut. 6:7) but empty repetition falls flat and lifeless. It has no fire that will ignite the soul. And the only reason for that is detachment from the source. It means you stopped reading/studying the Bible. The effect is brutal. The glory of God that has been your shield begins to lift. Satan, who has hitherto retreated, starts sending his demons to dampen your spirit. Things escalate from there till you realise you are fallen and run back into the safety of the Word of God. "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” (Psa.91.1-2.NIV). The Word of God is that shelter. The more you learn, the more you know and the more you attract the Heavenly Hosts into your life. You even become a source of blessing to your immediate community. You are the light of the world.

THE WORD: If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." (John.15.7-8.NIV)
