ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD. - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.
August 25th, 2025

ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD.
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Rom.8.28.NKJV)

This verse (Rom. 8:28) is the conclusion or the summary of the disaster, the fall of man in the Garden of Eden to the provision, a route of escape from condemnation to sonship through Jesus Christ. It embraces suffering, affliction, trials, persecution with the hope of a glorious end. Hence, all things work together for good for those who:-
1. Love God
2. Who are called according to His purpose.

That is the shift. All things do not work together for good for all people, the unsaved and the saved; sinners and those who have repented; those still in the flesh and those who walk after the Spirit ; those who still rejected Jesus and those who believe in Him. All things work together for good for ONLY those who are in Christ Jesus. "There  is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." (Rom.8.1.NKJV). These are those who love God. And who are they? They are those who keep Him commandments. "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John.14.21.NKJV)

Who are those called according to His purpose? These are those who believe John 3:16 and have acted on it. "...who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,....."
(2 Tim.1.9.NKJV). This is the Spirit of Adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father while the Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God (Rom. 8:15-16). The promise is limited to those who love God and have submitted to Him by faith in Christ.

So, irrespective of what a believer is going through in life, right now, all of it is going to cumulate for your good. You are going to one day look back and bless the name of God. Men and women of faith did experience the same and glorified God. You will too. Just don't give up.

THE WORD: "And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us." (Rom.8.23.NLT)
