FROM ADVERSITY TO A WORTHY VESSEL!
I have come to realise that calling and serving are two different things biblically. God calls us often at a tender age but does not put us to serve until we have attain a certain age having gone through some experiences.

God doesn't use anyone until he/she has graduated from the University of Adversity where the course subjects are: trouble, opposition, pressure, chastening, illness, anguish, testing, and or tribulation. It usually seems greater than our ability to resolve. It sometimes doesn't just rain, it pours. And the Adversary is the devil. "But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.” The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord." (Job.1.11-12.NIV)
"Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil." (Mat.4.1.NIV)

Why is this path necessary for the elect?
Majorly to prune, purify, scrape all impurities from within and out, that we may be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Eph. 6:10). This is when we reach the point that nothing attracts us but the Word of God and the power therein.
It is when we have victory over temptation that we can actually become a true teacher of same to others. Just like the lives of Job, Joseph, David, Peter, Paul and more are still teaching us today.
Adversity becomes a shield to our hearts, strength to our faith, establishes that our support system is Jesus and only Jesus. This is when we truly appreciate the meaning of Luke 9:23 - “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me." (NIV)

Ever wondered why the utensils in the temple have to be washed and purified so often and why the important ones are made of gold? The test of gold is in fire. "The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the heart." (Prov.17.3.NIV)

We have to prove that we are worthy of our calling to serve Him who is without sin. So brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials (James 1:2)

THE WORD: "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."
(1 Cor.10.13.NIV)
