"CHRIST WHO LIVES IN ME." - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.
Sept. 10th, 2025

"CHRIST WHO LIVES IN ME."
"My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." (Gal.2.20.NLT)

THE STARTING POINT.
From cradle to when we consciously surrendered to Jesus Christ, we were in absolute control of our lives. It was easy for us to fall in and out of sin without any remorse. We tried in our power to keep the commandments but always fell back. It was easy to commit adultery, become a drunkard, lied effortlessly, claimed to be right when totally wrong. We felt cheated when we were the cheaters. We were conveniently blinded to our faults while we saw others faults. We wore pride like garments ready to compete with the God of the universe if need be. We were totally and absolutely blinded to the truth. It was easy to swore in God's name to lies. We didn't know God but we thought we did. Look around you, there are many more people who are as described above. They are still living in the SELF prison.

THE CHANGE THROUGH GRACE BY FAITH.
Inviting Jesus Christ into our lives is the beginning of reality. The reality that on our own, we can do nothing; we cannot see God, know God, or please God. This is the moment we die to self. This is the moment we give back control of our lives to Christ. This is when we are CRUCIFIED with Christ. Brethren we are dead yet living - only now, Christ lives in our bodies. Think about it - dead (carcass, dried bones) brought back to life because Jesus Christ now lives in the carcass/old self, making us NEW creations. The old is gone.

CAN I OPERATE IN BOTH THE OLD AND NEW SELF AT THE SAME TIME?
1. Remember that the old you is dead, crucified with Christ so that the life you now live in the flesh is not really you or yours but Christ who lives in you.
2. God forbids! You have chosen Christ. You cannot continue in sin and expect GRACE to abound. You cannot serve two masters, (you hate one to love the other). There is no room in your heart for both.

WHY DO I FALL BACK INTO SIN THEN?
Because you try to take back control from Christ. Keep your gaze on the Captain of the ship not on the storms of the sea. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

THE WORD: I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die." (Gal.2.21.NLT)
