PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.
Sept. 25th, 2025
LOVE IS NOT WEAK.
Love is not weak but strong and powerful. Love does not compromise set standards and cannot be manipulated. Real love is tough, it is discipline yet kind. Often times, what we perceived as love is enabling which is protecting a loved one from facing the negative consequences of their actions (making excuses for bad behaviour under the disguise that things will change, lying for them, pampering or nurturing bad/manipulative behaviour in the name of love and or peace). This sounds more like bribe than love. "Those who spare the rod of discipline hate their children. Those who love their children care enough to discipline them." (Prov.13.24.NLT)
Have you ever wondered why the love of God for us is so standardised? God loves us with same measure, disciplines us with same measure. He cannot be manipulated, He cannot be bribed. Why? It is because He has given us instructions, a standard to follow with attached reward or punishment. And for Him, agreement is agreement; it cannot be changed midway. It has to be honoured to the end no matter the cost. This is the real love. There is no love in broken promises. "......who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the Lord; who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind;...." (Psa.15.4.NIV) To be double minded is not love.
Parents have different standards for different child and call it love. It is not love, it is double standard and or cheating. Because, what is good for the goose is good for the gander. Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Father prayed to His Father in the garden for the cup of the impending suffering to be taken away from Him, many parents would have soft pedal. The wealthy one would have found substitute at whatever cost. The outcome would have been different and totally meaningless. The essence of His death would have been lost. But God stood firm. Agreement is agreement. Standards cannot be compromised, it will be injustice.
God promises He will be with us whatever the situation. "Discipline your children, and they will give you peace of mind and will make your heart glad." (Prov.29.17.NLT) For love "does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out." (1 Cor.13.6.NLT)
THE WORD: “Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy." (Deut.5.33.NLT)
