LET GO; TO GO.
Let go to be able to go
Let go of the burden/loads that presses you down to be able to travel light. Why?
Because when God is ready to act, when He wants you to move, it is usually in a hurry, quick, decisive, and in a flash.
Peter's experience in the prison: "Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. “Quick, get up!” he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists. Then the angel said to him, “Put on your clothes and sandals.” And Peter did so. “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me,” the angel told him." (Act.12.7-8.NIV)
The Exodus from Egypt: "This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the Lord’s Passover." (Exo.12.11.NIV)
The Elijah and Elisha separation: "As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind." (2 Kings.2.11.NIV)
All things from God happen in a twinkle of an eye. His miracles are in a twinkle of an eye. His blessings come in a flash and even death comes to take away suddenly.
The implication is, only those who are ready receive. There is always the element of surprise and we have no excuse for not being ready for a miracle we have been praying for for years.
Our major enemy is lack of focus on Christ Jesus. We carry too many burden - the worries of this world broken down to food, shelter, clothing, savings for tomorrow, treasures, people's opinions, worldly pleasures. There is no way we can drop all of these in the twinkle of an eye. Think of it this way; if you are habitually late for appointments, ask yourself why am I always late for work, to church, events, appointments? While you are always late, your partner is always on time! See why one will be taken!!! Mary and Martha! The ten virgins!
At Sodom and Gomorrah, the angel was with Lot and his family to prepare them for take off immediately everything is ready. They had to leave in a hurry (Gen. 19:15, 22) In spite of this, Lot's wife wasn't ready.
THE WORD: "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith......" (Heb.12.1-2a.NIV)
