PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.

“YOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER GOD BUT ME!”
“You shall have no other gods before me.
“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.” (Exo. 20:3-6) This is the second commandment.
For every carved image we make, for every ignorant display in the worship of anything or anybody, is seen and interpreted by God as hatred to Him. Why? Because every carved image or idol has no resemblance to God. They are creations of our hearts, the perception of how we see God. BUT NOBODY HAS EVER SEEN GOD. How can we carve the God we have never seen? It is not possible to see God because God is a spirit. Therefore, whatever image carved, or our object of worship, cannot be the Almighty God. It is surely another god or gods.
By extension, there is no authentic picture of Jesus Christ ever found. He was Word in the flesh. And if there was a real picture of Him, that will contradict the second commandment – “you shall have no other gods before me.” God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24 NLT). Moreover, Jesus came for the whole world not a section.
Notice that there is no reference in the Bible where Jesus directly called Mary His mother and Mary never called Jesus her son. There are implied statements like when the angel announced His birth, when Elizabeth acknowledged the revelation etc but nothing direct. Because of the second commandment. Jesus is the word incarnate – bigger than any of us or the combination of all of us. He cannot be contained like in a capsule.
THE WORD: “Be careful not to forget the covenant of the Lord your God that he made with you; do not make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything the Lord your God has forbidden. For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God."
(Deut.4.23-24.NIV)
