NAKED WE CAME; NAKED WE WILL RETURN - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT
Dec. 30th, 2025

NAKED WE CAME; NAKED WE WILL RETURN.
The main concern of Job, the author of the above quote, during his earthly ordeal, was the salvation of his soul. He lost all his earthly possessions, the devil was not satisfied and he asked to deal with his body. The whole of his body was covered with boil. He was physically being destroyed alive. He endured all but guarded his soul because he refused to sin. “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” In all this, JOB DID NOT SIN by charging God with wrongdoing.” (Job 1:21-22 NIV)

We all have similar story like Job.
1 We came into this world naked. All the people present at our delivery saw us naked. Nothing hidden. As new born, we even raised our hands up to show that we brought nothing into this world.
2 Like the Parable of the talent, God gave each of us talents and placed His earthly resources at our disposal to use as we deem fit with this instruction: “Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” (Jer. 29:5-7 NIV)
3 Seek God with all your heart before He comes back to .... “I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord,” (Jer. 29:13-14 NIV) That is, when our time is up and we are done here on earth, it is God that will call/take us back.
4 Meanwhile, our main responsibility is to find our way back to God before He comes to take us back as naked as we came. We need to identify the Master who sent us to this corner of the world, the one we will report back to. Life is like a puzzle; the parts have to fit to be whole. [Job had everything because he found God first]
5 “Dear friends, don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot do any more to you after that. But I’ll tell you whom to fear. Fear God, who has the power to kill you and then throw you into hell. Yes, he’s the one to fear." (Luk.12.4-5.NLT)

THE WORD: “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need." (Mat.6.33.NLT)
