LEARN TO TRUST GOD.
The gulf between God and man is the lack of Trust. Trust ensures obedience and the lack of Trust is the father of disobedience. Learn to Trust God because God sometimes sends us to or through situations that are against us. Meanwhile, He assures us that,“if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” (1 Cor. 10:12-13 NIV) Then He added: ”If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Rom. 8:32-33 NIV) This is indeed a paradox!
Allowing Daniel to be thrown into the lion’s den is against whatever the human mind can perceive or wish for. Yet, that was what God did! And Daniel survived because he trusted God.
On the other hand, He threw the Israelites into the wilderness without food, water or shelter. These were generations of people who had not experienced something like that before. Yes, they were slaves in Egypt, they seemed to be comfortable slaves with roofs over their heads, and food on the table. All God was saying to them was TRUST ME, I HAVE SOMETHING BETTER FOR YOU. They all failed except for Caleb and Joshua. They did not trust Him.
He allowed Jesus the Messiah, the miracle worker who was like no one else to be exposed to such profound public shame and embarrassment. One minute, He was on the donkey being hailed as king and the next, He was dragging a huge cross, His back bruised, thorn on His head and nailed to die on the cross worse than a common criminal. He was supposed to Trust God and He did.
There are many numerous cases in the Bible where God sends His own into situations that are against them - Job’s ordeal, the fiery furnace, the tempest, - simply teaching us to Trust Him.
DO YOU TRUST HIM AT ALL, FULLY OR PARTICIALLY?
THE WORD: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight. (Prov. 3:5-6 NIV)
