YOU NEED THE HOLY SPIRIT (2) - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

Feb. 24th, 2026.

WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?

God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24 NIV) So, you must have  the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to worship Him in the Spirit.

“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” (Rom. 8:14 NIV) If you are not led by the Holy Spirit, you are not the child of God. Jesus told Peter, if I do not wash your feet, you cannot be a part of Me (John 13:8)

The Spirit of God is the Holy Spirit. He is the same Spirit that raised Jesus to life. The same Spirit, - the breath that made man a living soul (Gen. 2:7) The same Spirit that moved on the surface of the earth in Genesis 1:3. The Holy Spirit is “The wind that blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8) He is the Spirit that gave the Apostles power on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-5). He is the spirit in Moses - “God took some of the power of the Spirit that was on him (Moses) and put it on the seventy elders. When the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied (Num. 11-24).

He is the Spirit that came upon Mary and made the conception of Jesus possible (Luke 1:35). The Holy Spirit wrote the Bible.

“Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” (2 Pet. 1:20-21 NIV)

He is the Spirit upon Jesus in Luke 4:18. “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,”

He is the Spirit that gives gifts and the fruit of the spirit (1 Cor, 12:1; Gal. 5:22-23)

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, co-equal and co-eternal with God the Father and God the Son (Jesus). God the Father is invisible but visible through His creations. God the Son - Jesus Christ is invisible but visible through the manifestation of the Word of God. God the Holy Spirit is invisible but visible through God the Father’s creations, the manifestation of His word. YOU NEED THE HOLY SPIRIT.

THE WORD: “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Luke 11:13 NIV)
