THE BEASTS BECOME HIS MESSENGERS. - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

Mar. 5th, 2026.

“But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you.

Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? IN HIS HAND IS THE LIFE OF EVERY CREATURE AND THE BREATH OF ALL MANKIND.” (Job 12:7-11 NIV) This is the primary verse describing nature as a source of divine instruction and testimony to God’s power.

Yesterday, we read briefly about Balaam’s donkey (beast becomes messenger - animal rebuking the prophet). “Then the Lord opened the donkey’s mouth, and it said to Balaam, “What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?” Balaam answered the donkey, “You have made a fool of me! If only I had a sword in my hand, I would kill you right now.” The donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your own donkey, which you have always ridden, to this day? Have I been in the habit of doing this to you?” “No,” he said. Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell facedown.” (Num. 22:28-31 NIV) This is evidence that God can use any of His creations to carry out His purpose, even the most hardened criminals. The hearts of stones become the hearts of flesh in His hand.

God often uses wild animals to discipline or warn, such as bears in 2 Kings 2:24 or locusts/plagues. But more importantly is the turn around of many seemingly hopelessly  unredeemable people that God in His wisdom, power and might turn round to become most respected followers of His Son - Jesus Christ. Many are preachers of the Word. There are no hopeless situations with God.

When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid………. As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.” (Mark 5:15, 18-20 NIV)

THAT SON OR RELATIVE OR NEIGHBOR OF YOURS IS NOT A HOPELESS CASE. KEEP PRAYING AND THE LORD WILL PERFORM.

THE WORD: Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” (Jer. 32:26-27 NIV)
