PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

Once again, we have to go back to the beginning. God said; “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (Gen. 2:16-17 NKJV) What does the tree of the knowledge of good and evil mean? It means DINING WITH GOD AND AT THE SAME TIME, EATING WITH THE DEVIL.
It means serving two masters. Immediately the Israelites asked for a king, they declared their willingness to serve two masters. “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” (Mat.6:24 NKJV)
Saul, the first king of Israel, partially sought out God but will quickly become the authority himself. This did not settle well with God. “....There is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.” (1 Cor. 8:6 NIV) Unlike Saul, David did not use his authority as king but followed the precepts of God. God was in authority ruling the people through David. All the kings who cut off God ended up as wicked kings; whereas the few that put God in authority were recorded in the book of life. “I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols.” (Isa 42:8 NIV) There you have it - choose - life or death!
Let us pulse here and ask; what were all the sacrifices for? The numerous offerings in the Old Testament functioned primarily to maintain a holy God's presence among a sinful people, providing TEMPORARY atonement, cleansing, and fellowship. They were detailed in Leviticus to address different needs—sin (atonement), gratitude (thanksgiving), and dedication (burnt offerings)—while foreshadowing the complete, final sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The sacrifices were temporary to appease God until a more acceptable and permanent sacrifice was found. This was found only in Jesus Christ.
Man kept falling like one without a spine and God kept finding solution/s to keep him standing. Not by works of man but through God's determination to perfect His work. This time, God, Himself, offered Himself as the acceptable sacrifice.
"Made into perfection" refers to spiritual maturity, completeness in Christ, and being sanctified by God rather than human performance.
THE WORD: “......just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” (Eph. 5:25-27 NIV)
