PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

Made into perfection signifies not only a movement but a deliberate act of saving what can be salvaged from the ruins. What ruins? The fall of man from grace to grass. God went from creating a nation from Adam and his descendants into having no nation at all. He went from expecting loyal and obedient children to disloyal and disobedient generations. Even the destruction by flood and starting all over again with Noah did not produce the expected result. In that instance, all mankind became Gentiles, meaning “of the same nation” - the nation of the disobedient. Therefore, the Gentiles became in a way, the firstborn. Hold on to this and trace it to the lastborn preference!
God will later call Abraham, a Gentile out of his native land, in Ur of the Chaldeans (Gen. 11:28) or Mesopotamia, which is the current day Iraq to follow Him (Acts 7:2) God patiently taught Abraham to trust Him as God unlike the gods of his ancestors. Gradually, Abraham developed unshakable faith in God. But before this, God made an unbreakable seven-fold covenant with Abraham (Gen. 12:1-3) which extended beyond him to ALL families of the earth. Hold on to this as well. These families are not only the direct descendants of Abraham. Jesus will later die for the whole world. But Abraham was not called Israel. Isaac was not called Israel. Jacob had a name change but not a nation. I believe here that God was building consistency - three generations kept the faith - these will now later become Israel. Now God has a nation and He gave them His sets of rules to guide them as a worthy example to the rest of the world of the Gentiles. God called them His FIRSTBORN SON. “Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Israel is My son, My firstborn.” (Exo. 4:22 NKJV) Disobedient who illegally became the firstborn, (Gen. 3) now relegated to nothing. In his place, Obedient becomes the firstborn.
Is Israel perfect? No. They are far from being perfect but a foundation has been laid. The difference is clear. The wonderful works God did through them became the evangelical focal point for other nations and individuals to join with Israel - nations like the Gibeonites (Josh.9), individuals like Rahab and Ruth and is still ongoing today.
