PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT
May 11th, 2026.
Jesus said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” (Mat 16:15-18 NKJV)
Here is what we know: The revelation of who Jesus is, was revealed to Peter by God, the Father who is in heaven. Second, Peter, in answer to Jesus’ question told Jesus that He, Jesus is the “Christ the Son of the living God” and third, Jesus said; “I also say to you that you are Peter.” - and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” On these facts Jesus declared that He will build His Church and no force or forces can stop Him.
Can any man, groups or nations stop Jesus Christ from building His Church?
“The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has spoken— who can change his plans? When his hand is raised, who can stop him?” (Isa. 14:27 NLT) “....if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.” (Acts 5:39 NIV)
This takes us to Psalm 23:5a “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” How does this play out in the topic of today? Several countries in the Middle East are recognized as among the most dangerous places in the world for Christians. As of 2026, many nations in the region are listed on the World Watch List for extreme, high, or very high levels of persecution, with areas of conflict enabling extremist groups to target minority faiths. But in the midst of all these, in Dubai, located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the Middle East, there is a portion of land dedicated to Churches. Christians can worship free of fear of persecution. Some Muslim converts relocate to Dubai for safety and freedom to worship the true and Living God in the place. How can this be? How did it happen? Jesus said; “I will build my Church, the gates of Hell cannot prevail over it.” “I created heaven and I created the earth….” (Isa 45:18) The second point is, you do not need a church building to belong to Jesus. Your body is already His temple and your heart His altar.
No amount of persecution can stop the growth of the Christian faith. The most important is ask yourself - Am I in the same boat where Jesus Christ is? The goal is not who we are in this world but who we will be in the world to come. Make sure you have a ticket for the flight. Be right with God.
THE WORD: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16 NIV).
