GOD IS STRICTER THAN WE LIKE TO KNOW. KBA Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

Aug. 19th, 2026.

“Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” (Mat. 5:48 KJV)

“For I am the Lord who brought you up from the land of Egypt to be your God; thus you shall be holy, for I am holy.” (Lev. 11:45)

But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” (1 Pet. 1:15-16 NIV)

The truth is we like to treat God as we do our earthly father. If you know how, you can get under your dad’s skin and still feel good about it. Our earthly fathers are humans whose sense of judgement is imbalanced. They are finite. God is God. The whole earth tremble before Him (Psa 96:9) There is no doubt that:

  • God is love

  • God is kind

  • God is also just.

  • He is Holy and can’t see evil. He cannot tolerate wrongdoing (Hab.1:13)

AS NO ONE IS EXCLUDED FROM HIS LOVING KINDNESS, NO ONE IS EXCLUDED FROM HIS JUDGEMENT. God is often described in the Bible as a loving and forgiving Father, but the scriptures also show He is perfectly holy, just, and strict about sin. Otherwise, He will not be just to all and if He is not just to all, then, He cannot be Holy. Psalm 89:14 says, "Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you." Romans 2:11 states, "For God does not show favoritism." But see the extent of His love - for us to be justified before Him, and because this is absolutely impossible, He took that punishment upon Himself. Romans 3:26: Explains that God sent Jesus to take the penalty for our sins, "so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus."  All these to make us Holy. This is the seemingly soft part where we mistakenly forget that God is disciplined and a disciplinarian. We bow before Him.

"For our God is a consuming fire." (Heb. 12:29) "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." (Heb. 10:31) Moses said to Aaron, "This is what the Lord spoke of: 'Among those who approach me I will be proved holy; in the sight of all the people I will be honored.” (Lev. 10:3) "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Rom. 6:23)

Accountability: "But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken." (Mat. 12:36)

THE ONLY ESCAPE ROUTE IS OBEDIENCE. TRUST AND OBEY - THERE IS NO OTHER WAY.

Now you ask yourself; If I had died ten years ago, five years ago, will I have made heaven? Nobody knows the hour or the day that Jesus will come. Make the best of NOW. Allow Jesus to wash you in His blood.

THE WORD: “Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.(Rom. 11:22 NKJV)
