PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

"The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him" (Deut. 18:15 NIV)
Moses was a type of Jesus and this verse is a promise to the Israelites that God will provide a future prophet to guide them. The person or prophet will act as a direct mediator between God and the people just as Moses. Jesus is our mediator.
As believers, we cannot afford to have a superficial knowledge of God. We should not make Jesus King because of the miracle of five loaves and two fish (John 6:15) that is for immediate benefit. We need to have a deeper revelation of God to grow our faith. For those who prefer the New Testament to the Old, you are like walking on one leg. Know now that the New Testament is the evidence of the Old Testament.
Moses went up to meet God twice. The first time when he came down, he met rebellious people who believed he was away for too long and then made the gold calf as god. When he came back the second time, it was to a covenant people. Jesus' first coming was to rebellious people. His second coming will be to gather His own - the covenant people.
Now we read Exodus 19:16-20 side by side with 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 and observe and compare the written words. God has not hidden anything from us (Deut. 29:29) we just don’t see or we just do not understand. Look for words like LIGHTNING (Mat. 24:27); TRUMPET;, GOD COMING DOWN; BELIEVERS GOING UP; Moses went up.
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air….” (1 Thes. 4:16-17 NKJV)
“.....there were thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain; and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, ……because the Lord descended upon it in fire. Its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and [a]the whole mountain quaked greatly. And when the blast of the trumpet sounded long and became louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by voice. 20 Then the Lord came down upon Mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain. And the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.” (Exo. 19:16-20 NKJV)
Add this - the people washed their clothes in Exodus 19:10 to meet with the Lord. In Rev. 7:14, “.....and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."
You may agree or disagree but one thing is certain, Jesus is coming back soon just make sure you are ready. I will be ready in Jesus' mighty name.
